Convoy App: Updating File Transfer Experiences for Businesses

The Problem

FTP-based solutions were never designed to handle the exploding need for fast, secure and scalable exchange of digital information. Current technologies in place are outdated and provide a lacklustre experience for businesses & clients alike. This can prevent users from reliably connecting with all the people, systems and data that matter most to their business.

How might we streamline file transfer systems, increasing productivity & forging stronger client relationships?

Let’s look at the research.

Studies show that 88% of organizations have difficulty moving big data quickly and efficiently. With ever-more limited attention spans, many users simply refuse to accept any unnecessary complexity delaying immediate access to the information they require.

My proposition. Design Overhaul.

Providing seamless interaction with a site promotes strong user activation. As users begin to explore your website more fully, your brand starts to form long-standing relationships.

Increasing user retention facilitates customer lifetime value. An influential factor here is comfort level. Users tend to return to what feels most familiar. If interactions are positive, the brand is more likely to remain top of mind.

In this sense, UX design can be leveraged to play on user’s psychological tendencies towards simplicity. A website that reduces confusion is likely to generate loyal customers and increase user retention rate.

I believe that by building a web based digital convoy that allows organizations to share, communicate & interact with their clients, that we can foster more efficient and impactful means of conducting business

Here’s a closer look at the UI for Convoy. You can see how it addresses major pain points experienced by our Persona. With a system as such available through web browsers, problems can get solved faster, questions get answered more quickly and work can be turned in or reviewed immediately. Scans are automated, important files are organized and communication between clients and employees for review processes can all be conducted in one simple-to-use experience before they’re sent off to storage.

Next steps.

  1. Conduct User Interviews & Reviews

  2. Design Task flows from epics & User Stories

  3. Hi-Fi Prototype & iterate
