Renovating Leafhome’s Reporting Tools

When Leafhome came to us, their internal systems were a bit like a renovation project left half-finished. Their teams were buried in manual processes, their data was fragmented across multiple sources, and confidence in reporting was at an all-time low. It wasn’t just slowing them down — it was blocking them from focusing on what mattered most: their customers.
Scope of Work
Breaking Ground: Understanding the Problem
I joined the project as the sole UX designer, with a mission to reimagine the way Leafhome members interacted with reporting tools and internal data systems. While the technical team focused on consolidating databases into a single source of truth, I set out to understand how workflows could be simplified and data made more accessible.
I started with interviews across teams and quickly uncovered a few core truths: First, inconsistencies in datasets due to multiple data sources had eroded trust. Second, employees lacked a centralized place to generate reports, access reliable data, and track lead generation. These pain points didn’t just frustrate users — they led to operational chaos.
Frameworks and Foundations: Building the Solution
To tackle this, I worked side-by-side with the technical team, mapping out how a single report moved through their system from start to finish. While they focused on the backend structure, I zeroed in on the UI — surfacing key data, identifying critical touchpoints, and removing friction.
We hosted discovery sessions to co-create with the client, and I crafted a user persona map to keep us anchored to the people behind the processes. We validated it with stakeholders to ensure we captured motivations, frustrations, and workflows correctly.
The solution we delivered was more than just a dashboard — it was a control center. Team members could now create reports, access reliable data, and understand their lead sources at a glance. It was powerful, clean, and above all, trustworthy.
Finishing Touches: Results and Reflections
The final product unified their scattered systems into a single, reliable source of truth. It eliminated the guesswork, reduced manual effort, and gave Leafhome members a sense of clarity and control they hadn’t had in years. The excitement from their team was immediate — for the first time, they saw a future where data worked for them, not against them.
